With host Jennifer Wong, get special insight into the art and industry of baking from the queens of Australian pastry, Flour and Stone’s Nadine Ingram, Beatrix Bakes’ Natalie Paull and Lune Croissanterie’s Kate Reid.
Jennifer Wong
Jennifer Wong is a Chinese-Australian writer and comedian. As a wordplay-loving food enthusiast, she’s the presenter of ABC’s Chopsticks or Fork?, a six-part series about Chinese restaurants in regional Australia. Her first book, Chopsticks or Fork?, co-written with Lin Jie Kong, will be published by Hardie Grant in late 2024. She writes a column for The Guardian called ‘Jennifer Wong’s Class Act’.
Kate Reid
Kate Reid is the Founder and Co-Director of Lune Croissanterie, a business she established solo in 2012, that has gone on to revolutionize the art of croissant-making. After studying Aerospace Engineering at RMIT University, Kate landed her dream job as an aerodynamicist for the Williams F1 team in the United Kingdom. After three years working in the elite world of F1 however, she came to the realisation that the world of engineering and F1 was not a great fit for her. Instead, she turned her technical know-how and love of precision to pastries. In 2022 Kate published Lune: Croissants All Day, All Night and in 2023, was awarded the RMIT Honorary Doctorate of Business honoris causa.
Nadine Ingram
Nadine Ingram is the baker and founder of Flour and Stone, a petite bakery in inner-city Sydney with a large and devoted following for its pannacotta lamingtons, dreamy cakes and buttery croissants. From a dairy farm in the Hunter Valley to Michelin star restaurants in London and baking cookies in her own kitchen, Nadine has come to firmly establish herself in the echelons of Sydney’s artisan baking community.
Her two books are Flour and Stone: Baked for Love, Life and Happiness and Love Crumbs.
Natalie Paull
Natalie Paull was born to bake. Nat opened the blink-and-you’ll-miss-it cult cakeshop Beatrix Bakes in inner-city Melbourne in 2011 to widespread acclaim. Before closing its doors in August 2022, cake lovers would line up for cakes, buns, tarts, cookies and more! In 2020, Nat gave away her first batch of baking secrets in the bestselling Beatrix Bakes and her second batch in 2024 with Beatrix Bakes Another Slice. She also eats a lot of cake. Every day.
